Stanford Environmental Law Society Speakers

ELS hosts informal lunchtime presentations usually once a month. Representative topics from the past few years include the Supreme Court and the environment, human rights and the environment, the use of market mechanisms in environmental policymaking, the energy crisis, redeveloping brownfields, and marine protected areas.

ELS also provides funding for students to attend environmental conferences and has hosted several of its own in the past, including "A Tale of Two Conflicts," a conference addressing two major land use and conservation problems: the Klamath water controversy and sprawl in the Sierra Nevadas.
